About me:
38 year old Singer from Athens, Greece
Marina Satti is a Greek singer, songwriter, music producer and actress born in Athens and raised in Heraklion, Crete. Her father is Sudanese Arab, her mother is Greek with Cretan roots. From early childhood, she was surrounded by diverse cultural influences — language, music and traditions — that shaped her creative voice. She began classical piano studies when she was very young, later attended classical singing and music theory training. She then pursued higher education in Contemporary Writing & Production on a scholarship at the Berklee College of Music.
Her music style fuses traditional Greek and Balkan folk elements with Arabic influences and modern urban, pop, electronic rhythms. She often blends polyphonic singing, choirs, and folk instrumentation with rhythmic production and experimental sounds. She founded the female a cappella group “Fonés” and the choir “Chóres,” which perform traditional polyphonic songs and contribute to her live shows. Her debut single “Koupes” (Cups) came out in 2016, followed by the hit “Mantissa” in 2017, which brought her wider recognition.
In 2022 she released her first full album titled YENNA. The album received critical and commercial acclaim. She followed up with more singles, including “TUCUTUM” in 2023, and represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “Zari.” Her performance in Eurovision combined her signature mixing of tradition and modern sounds. In 2024 she also released the EP P.O.P., which further showcased her genre-blending artistry.
Her broader work includes composing and producing, acting in theatrical productions, and voicing characters in films. She’s known for pushing boundaries in Greek popular music, bringing folk and polyphony into contemporary frameworks, and attracting audiences both in Greece and internationally. She is applauded for her distinct voice, her ability to cross genre lines, and for bringing underrepresented musical traditions to modern pop and global stages.
