About me:
32 year old Singer from Plovdiv, Bulgaria

Kerana is a Bulgarian singer, television host, and dubbing actress whose artistic journey reflects a blend of pop, alternative, and theatrical dimensions. Born in Plovdiv on July 28, 1993, she showed musical inclination early, and later studied at the English Language High School in her hometown. As she grew, Kerana sought an identity that would encapsulate strength and legacy, ultimately choosing the pseudonym “Kerana,” inspired by her great-great grandmother.
Her rise to public awareness began with her participation in the Bulgarian edition of The Voice, where her voice and stage presence captured audience attention. Through the platform, she showcased versatility and an ability to interpret diverse vocal styles, laying a foundation for her future creative work. Parallel to singing, she became involved in dubbing and voice acting, further expanding her artistic range and visibility.
Over time, Kerana formed and led the band Kerana and the Cosmonauts, a project that reflects her artistic vision of combining musical exploration with symbolic imagery. The band is known for diverse instrumentation, experimental soundscapes, and a theatrical stage presence. Kerana infuses her performances with emotional intensity—singing about love, identity, vulnerability, and transformation—while her companions contribute textured instrumental layers that enrich the overall musical experience. The group’s name evokes cosmic journeys, underscoring both thematic ambition and artistic metaphor.
Kerana balances a dual existence as solo artist and ensemble leader. Aside from her work with the Cosmonauts, she engages in music that highlights her individual voice—acoustic arrangements, expressive ballads, and bold stylistic shifts. She sees her musical identity as mutable, embracing both pop sensibilities and more avant-garde undertones. In interviews, she emphasizes authenticity, emotional truth, and continuous growth. She does not shy away from being different; she often experiments with sound, narrative, and visual language to reflect her evolving self.
Her career also extends into television and performance arts: Kerana has served as host of shows like Who Is That Song? and Do You Remember the Lyrics?, becoming a recognizable media personality in Bulgaria. In theatrical contexts, she has taken roles in musical productions such as Evita and contributed to the opera contingent in Plovdiv, integrating her vocal talents with dramatic expression.
Kerana is somewhat private regarding her personal life; she keeps a discreet line between the public and the intimate. She has expressed that the stage is her realm of maximum expression, yet offstage she often retreats into reflection. She also openly shares that during her student years she lived abroad—in Germany and Thailand—for studies in media and management, though ultimately music remained her truest calling. In her journey she has rejected habits she considers antithetical to her values, such as alcohol and smoking.
As an artist, Kerana is evolving rather than settled. She sees each album and performance as a step toward deeper self-understanding and connection with her audience. Her contributions to Bulgarian music lie not only in her songs, but in her insistence on creative courage and honesty. Through band and solo work, stage and screen, she continues to push boundaries. Over time, she is increasingly seen as one of Bulgaria’s more adventurous voices—a singer unafraid to explore, to risk, and to reveal.
