Enisa Nikaj, known professionally as ENISA, is an American singer and songwriter of Albanian descent, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her father emigrated from Tuzi, Montenegro, to the United States in 1989, and her mother joined him later. Enisa began singing at the age of three and was always the lead in school plays and musicals throughout her education. She attended PS 130 The Parkside elementary school, where she participated in theater and the school choir, graduating as valedictorian. At age seven, she played the role of Dorothy in a school play of The Wizard of Oz. She later attended I.S. 259 William McKinley Junior High School and Edward R. Murrow High School, graduating in 2015. She then pursued a bachelor's degree in business administration at Brooklyn College, graduating early in May 2018.
ENISA's musical journey began in 2015 when she started performing cover songs, gaining attention with her rendition of Hozier's "Take Me to Church." Her cover of Eminem's "Mockingbird" amassed over 10 million views on YouTube by December 2020. In 2019, she signed with Atlantic Records and Highbridge The Label. She participated in the American Song Contest in March 2022, representing New York. ENISA's music blends pop, R&B, and Albanian folk influences, and she is known for her powerful vocals and emotional songwriting.
Her debut EP, Fake Love, was released in February 2022, featuring singles like "Get That Money" and "One Thing." ENISA continues to build her career, performing internationally and connecting with fans through her music and social media platforms.
