Lene Nystrøm is a Norwegian singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the pop-dance group Aqua. Born in Tønsberg, Norway, she began her career in the early 1990s, initially working as a model and bartender. In 1994, she was discovered while singing on a cruise ship and was invited to join the group that would later become Aqua.
With the band, she achieved worldwide success with hits that blended pop, dance, and Eurodance elements.
After the group’s initial breakup, Lene released a solo album in 2003, showcasing a more mature R&B-influenced sound, distinct from Aqua’s colorful pop aesthetic.
