53 year old Singer from Zagreb, Croatia Severina Vučković is a Croatian singer-songwriter and actress known simply as Severina. Born in Split, in what was then SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia, she is the youngest daughter in her family. From early childhood she showed interest in music, dance, acting and playing piano. Her formal education in music was interrupted when she chose to focus on her artistic career.

Her career began in earnest in the late 1980s, with her first album “Severina” released in 1990. Over the years she has released many studio albums, collected numerous hits like “Dalmatinka”, “Paloma Nera”, “Ja samo pjevam”, “Moja štikla”, “Brad Pitt”, “Italiana” among others. Her style is diverse, including pop, turbo-folk, rock, disco, electropop, cabaret, and influences from Balkan and Dalmatian folk music. Severina’s stage presence, public persona, bold performances and ability to reinvent her style have made her one of the most prominent figures in Croatian popular music and a regional icon.

She also acted in television and stage productions, has taken part in festivals, and represented Croatia in Eurovision 2006 with the song “Moja štikla”. Her song catalogue includes both ballads and uptempo, danceable tracks. Her ability to connect emotionally through her songs is complemented by her public image, which often involves glamour, bold fashion, and strong visual presentation. She has a son, Aleksandar, born in 2012. She has been married and divorced; her legal name has changed accordingly but she remains professionally known as Severina.
